Import & Export Conversations

You can import conversations from ChatGPT and use them on the campusGenAI platform.

Export your data from ChatGPT

1. Open ChatGPT and login to your account.
2. Click on your profile icon in the top right corner of the page.
3. Click Settings > Data Controls.
4. Navigate to Export Data and click Export. A confirmation window opens.
5. Click Confirm export.
6. Open your email to find an email containing your data.*
7. Click Download data export. A .zip file containing your exported data, including your chat conversations, is downloaded onto your computer.
8. Extract the contents of your .zip file.

The link in the email expires after 24 hours.

Import your data to campusGenAI

1. Open campusGenAI and login to your account.
2. Navigate to the bottom left corner and click on your profile picture. A pop-up menu opens.
3. Click Settings > Data Controls.
4. Click Import next to Import conversations from a JSON file.
5. Select conversations.json from your extracted files. Your conversations begin importing.
6. After the files finish importing, a notification appears. You can now use your chat conversations from ChatGPT on campusGenAI.

Export conversations from campusGenAI

You can export your conversations from campusGenAI and use them on other AI platforms.

1. Open the conversation that you wish to export.
2. Navigate to the top right corner of the main window.
3. Click the Share/Export icon. A dropdown menu opens.
4. Select Export.
5. Select the file type for the exported conversation. You also have the option to change the filename.
6. Click Export. The conversation is downloaded to your computer.
