You can use template agents, agents created by other users, as te basis for your own custom agent. You can also create your own template and add it to the Agent Center.

Copy and edit a template agent

  1. Click Agent Center at the top of the left-side panel.
  2. Select a template agent. You can identify template agents by their Template badge, located at the top-left corner of the agent card.
  3. Click Template Instructions to read about how to use and edit the template agent. 
  4. Click Use this template.
  5. Click Get Started. The Agent Builder opens with the presets from the template agent already filled in. 
  6. Edit any agent fields that you want to customize. Note that drastic edits can change the intended behavior of the agent. 
  7. Click Save. Your new agent is saved to the Agent Center and ready for use.

Create a template agent

You can create a template agent for other users to copy and edit. Note that you must share your template agent to allow other users to access and copy it. 

  1. Open the right-side panel and click Agent Builder at the top. A dropdown menu opens with the configuration options for your agent.
  2. Scroll down to Template and toggle Save as Template
  3. Add instructions on how to use your template agent under Template Instructions. You should note any variables the user must change and whether additional context, such as particular file uploads, are necessary.
  4. Edit all other necessary agent fields. 
  5. Scroll down to Support Contact and add your name and email address. This is optional, but it allows other users who use your template to contact you if they run into trouble. 
  6. Click Create. Your template is saved to the Agent Center and ready for others to use.
